What does treatment with hypnotherapy involve?
If you have a problem which you think I might be able to help with, the first thing to do is to get in touch. We can discuss the problem and I will give you an honest opinion about whether I can help you or not. Contacting me will not commit you to anything.

Assuming I believe I can help you, we would need to meet for an initial consultation. This would usually last an hour to an hour and a half and would be an opportunity for me to find out more about you in preparation for planning treatment. I would also suggest how many sessions are likely to be needed.

For many problems, three or four are sufficient, though sometimes more are necessary. I usually carry out some basic treatment before the end of the consultation, such as deep relaxation. Subsequent sessions usually last 40 – 60 minutes

What does it cost?
In cases where the cost would be a barrier to clients getting the treatment they need, fees are negotiable, however my normal charge is £40 per session. Stop Smoking is a one-off double session and will therefore be charged at £80

If you require a home visit I will charge £20 per hour for travelling time plus 40p per mile.

I am happy to work with groups where this is appropriate (such as general relaxation) and to give talks and demonstrations. Please call to discuss terms.

All fees are payable at the time of treatment by cash or cheque.

I would encourage you to see money spent on improving the way your mind works as an investment in yourself. If your car or central heating wasn’t working properly, you would get it fixed. So if your mind isn’t working the way you want it to, surely getting it sorted out has to be a high priority?

Obviously you are free to end treatment at any time, though if a session has been booked please give at least 24 hours notice of cancellation to avoid being charged. Cancellations at less than 24 hours are charged at £20 and appointments missed without notice are still payable at full price.

Common questions
Can someone come with me? You are welcome to bring a friend or family member. All I ask is that they sit quietly.

Will you be in control of my mind? Definitely not! You will remain in control at all times. When you see stage hypnotists making people do silly things, they are working with people who have volunteered to go on stage and who were expecting to behave like that. They are not doing anything they do not want to do.

Can I get stuck in a trance? No. However relaxed and deeply in trance you are, you can come out of it at any time you want to.

Can everyone be hypnotised? Yes. Some people find it easier than others, but a skilled therapist will find the right approach for every client.
